Former IBF, WBA and WBO British title holder, Anthony Joshua, has reacted to his defeat by United States, US, boxer, Andy Ruiz Jr.
Joshua vowed to get his belt back from Ruiz during their rematch.
DAILY POST had reported that Joshua, previously undefeated, who was defending his IBF, WBA and WBO titles but was knocked down four times before underdog Ruiz was awarded a technical knockout.
Ruiz, a late stand-in following Jarrell Miller’s failed drugs tests, has proved refreshing and eye-catching in fight week.
However, addressing the press after his fight, Joshua described his defeat as a “minor setback.”
“It’s a test of character. I’ll see what is next and move on,” he said.
Also speaking, promoter Eddie Hearn said a rematch was a “must win” because Joshua’s options will be “nothing after that”.
